Digitalisation on everyone´s lips – LiFE 4.0
LiFE 4.0 refers to a concept that we have created last year. It has emerged from something that is increasingly taking over our lives: digital reality.
With the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) there are numerous possibilities to establish a sustainable and responsible use of resources. The technologies behind are known as Industry 4.0 when referring to industrial environments whereas LiFE 4.0 refers to our private surroundings.

For B&R as a leader in automation technology education has become increasingly important in combination with the upcoming digitalization of the industries and the whole life. Because of this we are happy to support Mi5, for example in the project smart4i, a really impressive Industrie 4.0 demonstrator developed by students. We are looking forward to the next common projects.

From our point of view as a leading technology company, it is essential to train highly-qualified young people in the era of digitalisation and industry 4.0 to strengthen Germany’s technological competitiveness. Thus, besides our own activities we are happy to support ITQ with their smart, innovative projects.

We support the Project MI5 for nearly a year. During that time, we could further develop the idea of an incubator for innovative and mechatronical approaches. With this motivated team and constant support through ITQ, we could already achieve a lot.

Digitalization pushes IT-technologies into automation and leads to new qualification profiles. It is important for Mitsubishi Electric, to support initiatives as the Mi5 and Smart Green Island. They encourage intensified dialogs between Universities, Students and Industry in an appealing way, providing the right skills for young engineers
